John Bord, President & Chief Marketing Officer
Since founding Guevavi in 2008, John has been the firm’s President and Chief Marketing Officer. With his vision and leadership, Guevavi has successfully launched and grown during an economic crisis securing national and International clients. Leveraging extensive global relationships and resources, John has kept his calm and enthusiastically embraced new opportunities while creating more marketing value for clients and partners.
John is likable and recognized as an expert in the marketing field, where he is a featured speaker for Hewlett-Packard, Dscoop and the American Marketing Association at national events, International conferences and executive seminars. He combines expertise in 1-to-1 marketing strategy and multicultural communications to engage customers while strengthening brand loyalty. John is Past-President of the Phoenix Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and recently served on the Professional Chapters Council for the American Marketing Association in Chicago. He currently Chair’s the CMO Advisory Panel for AMA Phoenix. Naturally, John has also earned numerous industry awards for marketing and advertising campaigns.
John received his Bachelor of Science in Communication from Arizona State University and earned an MA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. He also holds Executive Certificates in International Marketing Management and International Marketing Strategy from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. In addition, John is a Faculty member in the College of Business for the University of Phoenix Southern Arizona Campus and a guest lecturer at Arizona State University and Clemson University.
Dr. Mary Gendron, Senior Vice President of Research & Strategy
Mary leads the Guevavi research and strategy team and contributes to the client experience on many levels. Her International background brings unique perspectives to our team as an educator, consultant, manager, speaker and author while working in the United States, Malaysia, China, the Philippines and Costa Rica.
Dr. Gendron’s areas of expertise include marketing research, strategic planning, business process improvement and leadership development. Mary’s market research experience includes testing of existing or new products (from both developer and end-user perspectives), branding, logo and identity development, employee and customer experience with a product or other inquiries, and messaging of videos, web pages and all types of publications. She has tested products and services and generated actionable results for such companies as Ford Motor Company, Motorola, Texas Instruments, Novartis, Ottertail Power, CIGNA, SULZER Spine-Tech and Boeing. Mary was also the Lead Organizational Development Consultant for Intel’s initiative in Lean Thinking/Toyota Production Systems, Partner of Choice and Strategic Planning.
A licensed psychologist focused on business process improvement, Mary earned her Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude and 60-hour Master of Counseling from Arizona State University and her doctorate degree from the University of Arizona. She chairs the American Psychological Association Psychologically Health Workplace initiative for Arizona. Mary also volunteers as a disaster mental health professional in times of crisis in the US and around the world.
Bob Johnson, Executive Vice President
Bob brings 30+ years of experience in the high-tech industry and an International vision to Guevavi. He spent 26 years with the Hewlett-Packard Company living and working in the US and Europe, while conducting International business in many regions of the world. He has held a variety of positions as an executive in sales and marketing management, as well as global business development.
While at HP, Bob played a leadership role in mergers and acquisitions in partnership with several HP divisions to design and build new, powerful business solutions for the marketplace, Fortune 500 companies and consumer markets. He was among the senior management team to build and develop a new solution for HP with regard to enterprise digital publishing and 1-to-1 print communications. Bob is a knowledgeable leader and pioneer in Indigo Digital Publishing solutions and many other software components that resulted in an integrated workflow solution architecture for the marketplace.
Bob holds an MBA in international business and global development. He is a frequent speaker and contributing writer for industry events and publications. Bob is an active volunteer in Arizona and Utah where he works to strengthen communities.
Monica Trujillo, Vice President of Multicultural Marketing
Monica provides leadership for our Latin American market and works closely with Guevavi partners in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. She has extensive experience in multicultural marketing and corporate social responsibility from her days at Domino’s Pizza and working with NASCAR, where she developed and implemented corporate diversity initiatives and partner programs.
Monica’s expertise lies in linking cultural business objectives with media planning, placement and evaluation. She is proficient in analyzing multicultural research to create actionable strategies that connect brands with cultural segments in the U.S. and Latin America. Monica also brings experience in managing strategic external relationships with non-profit and community organizations for outreach programs and consumer events.
A Valedictorian at the University of Michigan, Monica earned a BA in Marketing, Summa Cum Laude. She was also recognized by the Detroit Tigers as a Homerunazo Scholar. In addition, Monica is a graduate of Valle del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute in Phoenix.
Brian Higgins, Vice President of Creative Services
Brian leads Guevavi’s creative services, including art direction, concept development, brand integration and production of all customer engagement communications. He has been creating emotionally engaging images and advertising materials for businesses in and outside of Arizona for more than 20 years.
Brian has a vast knowledge of the graphic arts in several different mediums that include video, television, events, print and retail packaging. He has worked with prestigious clients, such as Downtown Phoenix Partnership, Avnet, Cobra Golf, Kunnan Golf, Haley Inc., Allied Signal, Motorola, Simula, Saleslogix Corp., Best Software/Sage PLC. to name a few. His extensive background in all facets of design from logos
to brochures, direct mail, radio, print, magazine advertising, television commercials, and corporate videos provides our clients world class design for any project.
